ROOM IN JERUSALEM

.....
so
then and
this time your dark eyes delve into mine
you
will never belong to any man
I
caress you your beard is two days old and
begins to prickle
the
earth is the lord’s and the fullness thereof
[...]
..........
the
point is
ha
aretz
is the land where god gave origin to creation
it
is the land where christ shed his blood to
save man from his sins
it
is the land where modern history founders
struck to the heart without remembering why
the
point is
that
the point in question is out of control and is
losing itself in the dark of ages
those
at the center of europe and of an ancient
empire felled by its vices
who
only understand what they want to understand
or
rather who only understand at intervals
don’t
understand yerushalaim

CRITICHE
/ REVIEWS
..........
“The poetry of Tiziano Fratus sparks emotions
through its ability to incorporate the most
diverse fragments of life.”
(Giovanni Tesio - Tutto Libri, La Stampa)
..........
“Fratus is a profuse singer of
cosmic poetry; he uses the written word like
an act of revolt; he is insubordinate; he
makes a mirror of reality that kills the
reality everyone thinks they are floating in;
he makes a bigger splash that hides the diver
plunging into the swimming pool, like Hockney
depicts in his painting.”
(Sandro Gros-Pietro - Vernice, Torino)
..........
“His
chaotic voice is sermonizing without arrogance,
visionary without madness, descriptive without
descriptions, tempted by the monologging vein
of those who know what theater is and the
sacredness of theater.”
(Giuseppe Conte)
..........
“This world, our world,
pierced from side to side, in every detail,
sung with clarity and urgency.” (Mariangela
Gualtieri)
..........
“His writing is omnivorous,
determined to swallow the entire world, a
search for the meaning of a truth, inside what
is real and the projections that illuminate,
when they don’t mutilate, the
ever-precarious body of the poet […]
The poetry of Tiziano Fratus doesn’t flee
from the vortex, nor from the chaos; rather,
it searches for the geometric center of our
modern-day mal de vivre. […] The rest is
talent, instinct, rhythm and vertigo.” (José
Mario Silva - Diario de Noticias, Lisboa)
